Dr. Morris is a Board Certified Internist and a Bariatric Physician. He graduated from George Washington University Medical School and was Assistant Professor of the Department of Medicine and Preventive Medicine at Washington University of Medicine. He has been practicing medicine in Alaska for over 30 years. As Medical Director, Dr. Morris provides oversight, direction and medical knowledge to our staff and our programs.

Laurie Mapes

Laurie is a Certified Lifestyle Counselor who has extensive training from various weight loss specialty centers across the country, including the Cooper Institute in Dallas. Originally from Seattle, and a graduate of University of Washington School of Business, Laurie moved permanently to Alaska in 1982. She has a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Alaska Pacific University.

Allen began his career in medicine in 1979 as a medic in the army. He earned his certification as a paramedic then later became the senior paramedic at Ft. Hood, Texas and an instructor at the Army School of Aviation Medicine. In 1992, Allen graduated from the Army Physician Assistant Program with honors and earned a Baccalaureate from the University of Oklahoma with honors. His training as a PA included: Army Flight Surgeon Course, Emergency Medicine Basic Course, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certification. Allen then completed a Masters degree in PA studies at the University of Nebraska gaining experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Sports Medicine, and Bariatric Medicine. He retired from the army in 2001 and established his practice at Alaska Premier Health.

Sally Coburn, ANP

Sally was born in Anchorage and graduated from UAA with a Bachelors and a Masters degree in nursing. She began working at Alaska Premier Health in January of 1995 and also owns a consulting business that provides health and safety training courses. She is the president-elect of the AKNP Association and has been a Red Cross CPR / First Aid Instructor for 21 years. She is also a Heart Association Instructor and an instructor for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Joanie is originally from Los Angeles, California. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the Biola University Physician Assistant Program at Charles R. Drew University. Joanie has experience in Occupational Medicine and Bariatric Medicine. |

Ed is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a retired Army Captain with 20 years of active duty in the military. Ed graduated from the University of Nebraska with both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Ed’s specialty is Family Practice. He is also an avid outdoorsman who excels at trying to limit out on salmon every summer. |

She began working at Alaska Premier Health in December of 2000 as a medical assistant. She passed her Professional Coding Exam in March 2006 and currently manages client billing and insurance billing services. |

Nicole is originally from Indiana. She married an army medic and moved to Ft. Richardson, Alaska in 2005. She previously worked in a long-term care facility. Her goal is to complete an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting. Nicole is a certified phlebotomist. |

Tina is APH's front desk administrator and coordinates patient care among our providers. She is originally from Creswell, Oregon. Tina retired from active duty in the U.S. Air Force in 2005, where she worked in healthcare administration. She has an Associates Degree in Instructional Technology. Tina moved to Alaska in September of 2006.
Stephanie graduated from Charter College in 2001 with a degree in Computerized Medical Office Assisting and Medical Transcription. Her experience includes administration at UAA's Health Center from 2004-2006 and volunteering to pack and ship medical supplies to Russia and China. At APH, Stephanie is an office administrator and coordinates insurance billing and coding.
Carla graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology and Exercise Sciences. Originally from Alaska, she has returned after taking time off to travel. Carla helped raise over $60,000 for women suffering from heart disease and for the cardiac care unit at Sacred Heart hospital in Eugene, Oregon. Carla is APH's exercise specialist and a medical assistant.
